Claudia Marcela Robayo Lopez was born in Bogota, Colombia. She graduated as a Marine Biologist and worked in this field for many years in different countries. In 2007, she moved to Bello Horizonte, Brazil, where her professional path took a turn. Being immersed in such a rich and colorful culture, she began experimenting with oil painting and exploring artisanal markets, learning from local artists techniques of collage on canvas and paper.
In 2009, she became a mother and moved to the United States. In 2018, she decided to give academic formation to her talent and empirical learning at the Glassell School of Art of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston (MAFH). Since then, she has studied with different artists such as Charlotte Cosgrove, Lydia Bodnar-Balahutrak, Francesca Fuchs, Robert Ruello, and Michael Bise. She currently lives in Houston, Texas, and collaborates with the Glassell School of Art.
In the last years she exhibited some of her paintings at the Kinder Morgan Gallery in Houston and in Agaphe Gallery located in Barcelona, Spain; also she has being participating in many art fairs in Spain, Luxembourg and Paris.
